Are you interested in genital warts symptoms in men? Genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are over 40 types of HPV that can infect the genital areas, mouths, and throats of men. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the human papilloma virus can cause normal cells on infected skin to turn abnormal. A lot of the time, men cannot see or feel these cell changes and in most cases, the body fights off HPV naturally and the infected cells go back to normal. But in some cases, the body does not fight off the virus and males can see visible changes in the form of little bumps -- genital warts. If you are a sexually active male, it’s good to know the symptoms of genital warts -- that way you can get tested for HPV as soon as possible and prevent spreading it.

There are a few symptoms that indicate genital warts in men. Genital warts usually appear as a small bump or groups of bumps on a male’s penis, testicles, thighs, or anus. Sometimes genital warts can be seen around and in the mouth and throat of men who have had oral sex with an infected partner. The warts can be small or large, raised or flat, and cauliflower-shaped. Generally, the genital warts do not hurt. They can appear within weeks or months after coming into contact with an infected person. Even if the infected person shows no signs of genital warts you can still contract HPV. Luckily these warts will not turn into cancer and if left untreated, genital warts may go away, remain unchanged, or increase in size as well as number.
