1. First you need to determine why you want to work as a drug rehab technician.  If you are interested in helping people overcome their drug addictions and already have a job that you enjoy, you could become a volunteer rehab counselor.  Many drug rehab centers allow individuals to volunteer to help patients overcome addictions.  If you are interested in helping people and also want to make a career out of your work, then move on to step two.
2. Next, attempt to get a job as a drug rehab technician with your current qualifications.  Some drug rehab centers will hire individuals without experience.  Technically, a degree is not required for drug rehab technicians, however, most facilities prefer to hire individuals who have completed some form of education beyond high school.
3. If you are unable to get a job with your current qualifications, sign up for an associates or bachelors program at a college near you.  Most employers will accept your qualifications if you have an associates degree or a certificate in some sort of behavioral or social science.
4. The last step in the process of becoming a drug rehab technician is personal education.  If you did not have the opportunity to take classes on addiction, you will need to educate yourself and obtain a basic understanding of addictions, how they work, and why people become addicted to various substances.
