How To Block A Phone Number
Isn't it unfortunate when someone you don't like calls and you don't know how to block a phone number? Sometimes you just don't want to be bothered or it may be someone from a previous relationship of a harassing telemarketer on the line. No matter who it is, there is a way to block these people from being able to successfully call you. Knowing how to block a phone number will have you more at ease without the worry that comes with these unwanted phone calls.
In order to block a phone number, you will need:
- Landline phone
- Most recent phone book
- Ensure that you will be blocking the correct number(s). Make sure you check your caller ID or look in the phone book for the number you are trying to erase. Write it down so you can have it in close proximity when it is time to block the number.
- Determine if your phone service has a phone blocking or call screening service. Depending on which provider you have, it may be included in your plan or you may have to pay a fee to receive this service. A simple call to your provider’s customer service number will determine this.
- Dial *-6-0 from your landline phone. You will hear the operator after the numbers go through. From here, follow the prompts that are given. Make sure you have the area code of the number you would like to block also.
- Call the operator and ask him or her to block a number for you, if you prefer. This service may only be available for a nominal fee.
