How To Erase History On Computer

It is easy to learn how to erase your history on a computer. Without knowing how to erase the history on a computer, family, friends or colleagues can easily monitor your activities in the Internet. Learning how to erase history on computer is crucial for those who want to protect their privacy.

To erase the history on your computer, you will need:

  • Computer or laptop

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system

  • Internet Explorer 4.0, 4.01, 5.0, 5.5 or 6.0

  • good internet connection

  1. Power up your computer. Once your computer has finished booting, make sure you are connected to the internet. Click on “Start” or the Windows logo on the bottom left hand side of the screen. Scroll down and click on “Internet Explorer”.

  2. Use your browser. Although almost anything short of a brand new computer will have some Internet activity, a brand new computer should have no browsing history. For the purposes of learning how to erase history the on a computer, visit a few websites if you are using a new computer or laptop.

  3. Close all browsers. Close any and all instances of Internet Explorer that may be running. Make sure that there are no other types of browsers open. Open your Internet Explorer once more.

  4. Erase history on computer. On your Internet Explorer, click on the “General” tab and then click on “Clear History”. Click on on the “Yes” button, then click on “OK”. This will close the Internet Explorer dialogue box and should erase the history on your computer.

  5. Double check your work. Make sure you have properly learned how to erase history on computer. Click on the “Favorites” tab on your Internet Explorer then click on the “History” tab. If you have properly erased the history on your computer, the “History” section should be all clear.
