Knowing how to increase the wireless range of a PS3 can greatly improve your online gaming experience. If you learn how to increase the wireless range of a PS3, you can enjoy lag free gameplay even in places with a weaker wireless signal. Before you start learning how to increase the wireless range of a PS3, you will need to gather the following items:

  • Tinfoil
  • Scissors
  • PS3

Once you have gathered these items, it is time to learn how to increase the wireless range of a PS3.

  1. Get a rectangle of tinfoil. The first step in learning how to increase the wireless range of a PS3 is getting a rectangular tinfoil that is about 12" long and 6" high. Use the scissors to cut the tinfoil into this shape.
  2. Fold the tinfoil in half. The next step in learning how to increase the wireless range of a PS3 is folding the tinfoil in half so that you are left with a 6" by 6" square. Once you have the square, fold each of the sides in by 1" to create a frame around your tinfoil. This will help provide a rigid structure so it is easier to mold the tinfoil into a new shape.
  3. Bend the tinfoil into a parabola shape. Once you have completed the frame, you will need to bend the tinfoil into a parabola shape. This should leave the tinfoil looking like the letter "U," but slightly more open. After you have the parabola shape, bend the top of the tinfoil down slightly. The top is what would be the highest point on the tinfoil if it was sitting on its side.
  4. Position the tinfoil on the PS3. The last step in learning how to increase the wireless range of a PS3 is putting the tinfoil by the wireless receiver. The wireless receiver should be in between where the wireless signal is coming from, and the tinfoil should be directly behind the wireless receiver. What this does is increase the signal that the PS3 receives and makes weaker signals from further away stronger, thus increasing the wireless range of a PS3.
