- Clear lights
- Colorful lights
- Ladder
- Extension cords
- Christmas tree
- Check to see if your lights work. Plug your Christmas lights into an outlet to test if they are working.
- Start at the base of the tree. Begin wrapping your set of clear lights from the bottom of the tree to the top. Each time you go around the tree with the lights, move up a level so that the lights cover the tree from head to toe. Make sure that when you begin, you keep the end of the lights that plugs into a socket at the bottom of the tree. This will make it easier for you to connect it to a socket once you are done.
- Connect your colorful lights. Start at the top of the tree and connect this string of lights to the end of your clear set of lights. You can use a ladder if the top of your tree is too high for you to reach. Wrap the colorful lights around the try and go down a level each time your circle your tree. Make sure that the colorful lights cover your Christmas tree from top to bottom. Once you are done, tuck in both set of lights into the branches.
- Use extension cords if your cords do not reach the outlet on their own. Try to avoid using more than two extension cords together.
