The Most Expensive House In The World
The most expensive house in the world is worth $1 billion, and it isn't really so much a "home" as it is a "building." The mammoth residence that is (For now at least) the most expensive house in the world, is located in Mumbai, India (Formally known as Bombay, India). The owner is Mukesh Ambani, who is a 53 year old Indian business man. Ambani is not only the richest person in all of India, he is also the fourth richest person in the entire world. Ambani lives in the building with his wife and their three children. Ambani named the residence Antilla, after a mystical island.
So the question is, what exactly does one include in the most expensive house in the world? The most expensive house in the world is 27 stories tall (540 feet), and almost 400,000 square feet (Which is more square footage than the Palace of Versailles). The first 6 stories of the house are entirely dedicated to be a parking garage, with room for 160 cars. Of course, there's a health club inside the building, which include a gym and a dance studio. Also included in the building is a ballroom, numerous guest rooms and lounges, and an in-house movie theater that can seat 50 people. Oh, and let's not forget the helicopter pads on the roof. All three of them. There is also an indoor elevated garden that was designed with ample ceiling space to accommodate numerous small trees. And what incredibly expensive house would be complete without several indoor swimming pools, and a full staff to run the place? And "full staff" in this case means 600 servants.
It can be debated as to whether owning a residence of this magnitude in one of the most poverty stricken countries in the world was a wise decision. But what's done is done. The only question that remains is how long will Antilla remain the most expensive house in the world. Sooner or later, somebody somewhere is going to build a residence that tops even this one.
