Try out these table tennis pro tips during your next game and keep your opponent guessing. If you have been playing table tennis for fun and are looking for some tips on how to improve your game, you can get them here. This sport has much more to it than many people realize. Table tennis is not just about hitting the ball back and forth; it is also about strategy and tactical challenges.

  1. Learn the correct strokes. Since table tennis is a game of strategy, you will score better if you don't just try to smash the ball every time it is on your side. Learning the proper techniques will get you much farther in the game.
  2. The correct serve. The first step in any table tennis game is the serve. To serve legally, the ball needs to land on your side of the net first and then your opponent's. If the ball touches the net, you need to reserve. The best way to serve is to keep both the racket and the ball about the surface of the table and then throw the ball up at least six inches. The contact with the paddle should be made when the ball is coming down.
  3. Use your best serves early. In this game it is better to start off strong and build you lead. Don't save your best serves for later in the game, start with your best and get stronger from there. Since the score in table tennis is only to eleven, your chance of taking your opponent is better if you start off with the lead.
  4. Use the right equipment. The bat you choose and the rubber you choose will depend on how you play table tennis. The rubber is extremely important because it will determine how much spin you can get and your speed. The bat or the blade is also a factor. Those who use the attack method need a faster blade, while those who combine both attack and consistent play will need a slower blade so they have more control.
